I found out that i had this co-infection(hiv,hep-c) in 2002.My doctor says that it is very hard to treat,however with sticking to my meds;this includes hiv meds, and interferon,i now have the hep-c under control after 30 weeks of a 48 week... Read more »

i know this might sound like a stupid question but is it possible to pick up both HIV and HEP-C from one unprotected, penis/vaginal sexual encounter ? and if so, can this cause problems with an HIV test at 3 months ? co-infection ?

Yesterday, I got my 6 months results : HIV and hep C negative.
Bilirubin : 2.29 ( very high - liver )
CD4-count(698) ( very low)

Good question. There are many shared risk factors for hepatitis C and HIV. If you have one you should be tested for the other. If you have hepatitis C you should be tested for HIV. Go get tested, it will make a difference! DTD... Read more »
