It sounds like the recommendation to have surgery is correct. If your brother is HIV+ (you don't say), then he needs to be evaluated for a certain kind of pneumonia called PCP. Good luck!... Read more »

lung problems

I had PCP 2 years ago but am now fine. But recently had nodules on my lungs increase in size and quantity. I had a surgical biopsy done and there is nothing there (cancer, TB, etc.) I work out doors and my drs advised me to retire as the humidity in...

It sounds as if the nodules are nothing serious at present, but it would certainly be our practice to keep doing tests on a regular basis, perhaps A CHEST X-ray every 6-12 months. Additional tests could be done if the lesions grow or start giving... Read more »

Lung area stays sore

Hello! And I thank you in advance for such a wonderful website. I've been diagnosed with COPD in 1999. Diagnosed with HIV in 1991. It has progressed really fast and continues to do so. I am on 02 oxygen and uses combivent and Flovent inhalers....

Do x-rays affect hiv test result?

I do an x-ray for my lung, than I do a hiv antibodies screening assay Immediately. It is non-reactive.Would x-ray affect my hiv test result? Would I get a false negative??...
