i know this might sound like a stupid question but is it possible to pick up both HIV and HEP-C from one unprotected, penis/vaginal sexual encounter ? and if so, can this cause problems with an HIV test at 3 months ? co-infection ?

HCV infected males can have sperm washings before in vitro fertilization (IVF) so that you will not be infectious to your wife. If you don't infect your wife, your baby is not at risk.Even with routine intercourse there is a risk of spreading... Read more »

I would not recommend testing. Spread of hepatitis viruses through needles infers blood to blood exposure. That was not the case here.... Read more »

There is no evidence that people living in the same household with someone who has HIV or HCV is at risk of acquiring the infection. The main issue is that if you accidentally cut yourself, you don't want to expose your children to any blood... Read more »
