Dear Dr. Dezube, could Kaposi's Sarcoma tumors be treated by leeches, the blood sucking creatures? I had chemotherapy (Doxil) about 2 years ago and now the tumors are starting to come back and I really don't want to go on to another one...

I have lesions all over my body. Would exercise be good for me and ks? I am afraid for some reason. I choose not not pursue treatment for ks other than my meds. I have been positive for 18 years. Relatively healthy. The ks mostly bothers my mind....

Kaposi's sarcoma is caused by the Kaposi's sarcoma herpesvirus (also known as human herpes virus-8, HHV8). It is mostly found in the oral cavity (saliva). HHV8 is a pretty common virus, particulary among gay men (either HIV+ or HIV-).... Read more »
