I was told today that you can prevent HIV infection by bathing right after sex. I always thought this to be false. Is it fact or myth that good hygiene can prevent stds such as HIV???...

I would just like to clarify if I have misinterpreted the information provided on this website.On the article '10 common fears about HIV transmission', it was said that shaking hands (which may have cuts or peeling on them) posted no risk...

some myths I have heard

when asking people about HIV I have heard these things said to me.
1. you have to have multible exposures to get Hiv.
2.Hiv can hide in your body for 7 years
3. even a Nurse told me a HIV test must be done 1 year after possible exposure.
