Those bands are detecting antibodies to HIV infection. I would not be concerned with these results. The western blot test is used to confirm HIV infection and not monitor a person once they are infected and in treatment....

I've read that red bands around the teeth are one of the signs of gingivitis, which may be a sign of HIV infection. But does anyone know what white bands are? Is anybody experiencing this? Just curious..Read more » BANDS ON GUMS

I have a question. Would people in the early stages of HIV(first year) get this red band gingivitus? or is it only it advanced stages of the illness? the reason I ask is because I see these line on my back two molars on the right ide of my mouth.Read more »
