Ive been taking 20 mg of Lisinopril for high blood pressure for about 2 years. It hasn't worked. Now my doctor has added 50 mg of Atenolol. Is it ok to take both drugs together on a daly basis?

It is 2 years now since I was diagnosed.I am on treatment on two tablets a day( Triommune 40) But suddenly my blood pressure has shot up to 150 by 100. Is this a side effect?
