What Is Hepatitis? Hepatitis means an inflammation, or swelling, of the liver. Viruses can cause hepatitis. Alcohol, drugs (including prescription medications), or poisons can also cause hepatitis. So can opportunistic infections such as Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC, see Fact Sheet 514 ) or Cytomegalovirus (CMV, see Fact Sheet 504 ). Hepatitis is a very common disease. The key word is "MAY" delay HIV seroconversion. It has been reported in the literature - VERY RARELY - and as such, repeat HIV testing beyond 6 months MIGHT be considered if Hep C coinfection has been documented. This is rare enough that... Read more »

I heard that some anti-allergic medicine (i.e piriton) will prevent the body from producing antibody...right?? Will someone take this medicine getting the -ve result for HIV even he/she is inflected. IF yes, need he/she stop to have those medicine... Read more »
