I found out that i had this co-infection(hiv,hep-c) in 2002.My doctor says that it is very hard to treat,however with sticking to my meds;this includes hiv meds, and interferon,i now have the hep-c under control after 30 weeks of a 48 week... Read more »

Have lymph nodes in my jaw and the pain is shooting to my ear and then my head. Afraid to take anything exposed to hiv
and hep c blood. Went ID doctor he said hepc can delay hiv
3 months. I am going to buy home acsess test today.

I know this site is about HIV but with HepC getting out of control shouldn't we suggest to folks to also get tested for that as well as the HIV ? There are more people becoming infected withHepC even if their tests come back neg for HIV. Read more »

I was exposed to Hep C over 20 yeas ago, so now I test poitive; but it has never made me sick. Would it be safe to donate my body at death? Could my body parts be of any help to anyone?...

There is a little bit of data that patients with HIV/HCV infection may have an increased chance of transmitting HCV than patients with HCV alone. This may be related to increased levels of HCV in genital fluids or in blood. Condoms would be the best... Read more »
