Quantitative PCR RNA is the viral load test for HIV-1 only, right ?
For Qualitative PCR DNA for HIV-1 and HIV-2, the report format would be 'detectable' or 'not detectable', right ?..or/and would 'strain' of the hiv founded would be reported ?

This is nerve-racking. I'm getting my PCR RNA test (viral load) results later today. It's about 6 weeks after my night of stupidity. Would a positive or negative viral load test at the 6 week point be the final word on this matter?

I just got a negative on a 27 day DNA PCR. I actually thought it was the 28th day - but later calculated it to be the 27th day (darn February!)

Is this good ? I will take a 3 month Elisa - but please do let me know if this is a good sign Read more »
