Has anyone ever heard of someone getting hairy leukoplakia on their tongue (confirmed by biopsy) and that person not having hiv.

I have ohl and negative antibody tests and undetectable viral load tests.

You can usually tell if someone has hairy leukoplakia by its characteristic appearance: a white, furry plaque most often seen on the sides of the tongue that cannot be scraped off.... Read more »

To my knowledge, Oral Hairy Leukoplakia (OHL) does not occur during seroconversion, but is a manifestation seen later in HIV disease. Thrush, or candidiasis can and does effect the tongue in two different ways:Erythematous candidiasis, which... Read more »
