There can be many causes for elevated liver tests and your monospot is positive which is consistent with mononucleosis. Be very careful about using any acetominophen (ie Tylenol), non-steroidals (ie Motrin) and alcohol while your liver is inflammed.... Read more »

Hep C Liver Panel

The only liver panel function that is out of range is the AST, which is 68 and the ALT which is 73. There are two separate values for the same HCV RNA QN PCR. Why is that? How serious are these numbers?...

Those are minimally elevated levels of liver enzymes, but you don't indicate what the HCV PCR values were, so it is difficult to assess any significance.... Read more »

I've been on Combivir and Crixivan for 10 years - no side effects and good numbers. However, my last physical (5-06)indicated I should follow-up with a liver panel in 2 months; it was slightly elevated. When is it time to consider changing meds? Read more »
