Hi,A condom slipping off on withdrawal should not place you at significant risk for HIV. An isolated sore throat and possible swollen glands in your neck and one armpit is not suggestive of HIV ARS. So minimal (if any) exposure plus symptoms, which... Read more »

Hello and thanks for your post.PEP is most effective when given as soon as possible after the exposure. Since Atripla is suppressing your virus, it's reasonable that either tenofovir/FTC (Truvada) or Atripla would be a good PEP should your... Read more »

What is the rough duration that symptoms will last after someone is infected with HIV? I think I read somewhere else that they only last around a week. So if someone is getting symptoms which are lasting 2, 3+ weeks is it safe to assume that... Read more »

Duration of Symptoms

My understanding is that if ARS presents itself, it is usually a constellation of symptoms, begins 2-4 weeks after infection and lasts 1-2 weeks.

Given that I began experiencing myalgia (alone - no other symptoms) at the beginning of week 7 after... Read more »
