I would definitely advise you NOT to take steroids!!!Steroids can cause reactivation of HBV infection and do harm to your liver. HBV "flares" are caused by a resurgence of virus in the blood and can be serious.Right now, it sounds like you... Read more »

I agree with the person who told you that just because you developed acute hepatitis B infection does not mean you will develop HIV. I would suspect that your HBV infection was contracted through sex, which is the most common route. Of course, you... Read more »

THe hepatitis B testing story you refer to is "occult HBV" and it is quite uncommon.No I would not extrapolate this testing issue to HIV. You are done with testing.... Read more »
