I have been HIV positive since 1985. I have severe neuropathy. I havedeveloped resistance to the antivirals I've been taking.My doctor has ordered Didanosine (DDI). What are the chances of the DDImaking my neuropathy worse? THANKS FORYOUR HELP!...

Yes, if you have severe neuropathy, ddI could definitely make yourneuropathy worse. The "d-drugs" (ddI, ddC, or d4T) are contraindicatedin someone who has severe neuropathy.... Read more »

Nausea and Vomiting from DDI

I've been taking DDI (along with Viramune, Zerit and Hydrea) for the last two years. My viral load has remained undetectable with this combination. Recently I have been experiencing nausea and vomiting an hour following my dosage of DDI....

It would be somewhat unusual to just now start experiencing those symptoms due to the ddI. There have been some changes in the formulation which could alter how your body tolerates the drug. I often suggest trying the pediatric powder mixed 400 mg... Read more »

Has any one had aids then progressed back to hiv cause of meds. The Dr's misdiagnosed me for years so I caught this late. I was finally diagnosed right and put on Kaletra and combivir. I have not had and oppurtunistic infections yet but still scared... Read more »
