Drugs and DHT production

Over the last year I've been experiencing noticeable hair loss. To investigate the causes, I had my blood tested for DHT levels (Dihydrotesterone) - a known culprit in male hair loss. My DHT levels were off the chart - 5500pmol/L vs. the high...

I haven't seen any data linking any of your HIV drugs to increased levels of DHT. Most of the literature and clinical experience has been focused on possible LOWER levels of testosterone and other androgenic hormones in the setting of HIV... Read more »

More Hair Loss

I've been catching up on articles here and one that maybe redundant is that of hair loss. I was on a regimine of AZT, 3TC, Crixivan and Norvir from 1996 through 2002. During this time I have also experienced dramatic hair loss, to include...

You are right about that. I think the risk of HIV transmission from a hair removal device is infinitesimal. The point that I wanted to make (didn't work though) is that someone with HIV infection using a device that becomes visibly... Read more »

Hiv survival on organic surfaces (e.g. skin, hair)

Hallo. I have read a lot of articles before asking this question but I still have a question (maybe due to the fact that I do not have medical knowledge). We know that HIV does not survive for very long outside the body. Actually as soon as the body... Read more »
