The AZT component of Combivir can cause a myopathy-generally not a myositis. It would be very unusual to occur after just 3 doses. If you are that ill you need to be seen by your primary care physician for further evaluation. KH... Read more »

I have been hiv poz for 22 years. Never really been sick. I have been on hiv meds for 15 years and done pretty well with them.I am undetectable and t-cell are 600 I have been on trizivir,norivir and reataz for 3 years and I have had no side effects....

Stopping HIV Meds usually results in a return of the HIV Level to pre-treatment levels over several months and a drop in the CD4 cell count. Stopping a Sustiva based regimen runs the risk for resistance. When one of my patients stops meds I... Read more »
