Thrush: HAART?

I have bad thrush and a fungal infection on the corner of my mouth, in spite of a normal CD4 count.Does that mean I am at greater risk of progressing to AIDS? Should I start HAART even though I have >800 CD4's?Thanks....

In the absence of antibiotic or steroid use, or underlying diabetes, this may indicate some immune suppression despite normal CD4 counts. I would not recommend treatment unless I saw a significant trend in CD4 decline or repeated episodes of thrush... Read more »

A white to yellowish coating on the back 2/3 of the tongue, does not necessarily mean you have thrush (candidiasis). Just because you have AIDS and have recently been on an antibiotic does not necessarily mean that you have candidiasis. If there are... Read more »

About one year ago i had a huge HIV scare..... I tested negative at 7 weeks and never tested again because i was told a 7 week test is quite conclusive and i wasn't really in high risk.... i needed to get past it and move on.
