What Is Tenofovir? Tenofovir (Viread), also called bis-POC PMPA, is a drug used as part of antiretroviral therapy (ART). It is manufactured by Gilead Sciences. The FDA approved tenofovir for use against HIV in October 2001. Generic versions have been tentatively approved under PEPFAR (see Fact Sheet 475 ). next to tenofovir?

dear doc, first we got adefovir which is now used only in hepa B. then came tenofovir. but we have not heard any congener to tenofovir without any cross resistance. why so?regards....

Sub-optimal response with Adefovir.

I have been on Adefovir (10mg) for the past 6 monts and I just read an article on this. I wanted to know if I fall in to this category beacuse of suboptimal response. Can you please comment on the article at the link...

It would be reasonable to discuss switching to entecavir (Baraclude) with your physician. Entecavir is more potent in terms of reducing viral load. It has similar efficacy in terms of seroconversion as lamivudine. It has not been compared... Read more »

what adefovir can cause to the embryo

Dear Doctorsi ve being taking adefovir about a year and a half , since i developed lamivudine resistance. the results are good, and the test blood are normal. my viral load went from 180.000 copies to now 2.280 copies with HBV DNA QNT PCR ( pg/ml)...

There numbers appear to be ranges for the laboratory and not necessarily reflective of your results, which are usually expressed as a single number. The main thing to follow is HBV DNA - I don't see a result before treatment so cannot comment.... Read more »
