Most experts would not recommend starting HIV meds with those kinds of CD4 and VL counts. The immune system is still in pretty good shape. I am not sure what the antibiotic would be in this case. People with AIDS (<200 CD4 cells) require... Read more »

lab values and what they mean.

I have just found out that I'm HIV + and my 1st labs are cd4 425 and VL 52900. at this point my Dr. says that we do nothing, and I am to have new labs drawn and see him in 3-4 mounts. my question is with my VL of 52900 should i have labs done...

Probably not. Given your relatively good CD4 count you can afford to wait. It is important to have another set of numbers or two to see what your trend will be.... Read more »

on the test results for hiv does anyone know what the t-4 free is and the range being in between .8-1.8 ng/dl mean...and tsh .40- 5.50 mIU/L .....if my test at 4 weeks was 1.3 and 3.54 do u think im going to still be negative at 12 weeks just asking Read more »
