Your viral load is the moderate range and your CD4 count is also moderately decreased. A normal CD4 count in someone without HIV infection is between 500-1500. given those numbers, HIV treatment would be recommended for most people.... Read more »

A normal CD4 count is between 500-1500. In most people who become HIV infected, we don't know what the CD4 count was before HIV infection. So you may not have lost many CD4 cells if you started at the lower end of the normal range.... Read more »

My advice would be to ignore the CD4/CD8 ratio, which is rarely used anymore, and focus on the viral load, the absolute count CD4 count, and the CD4 percentage. In your husband's case, the viral load is what is most important. If he's... Read more »
