I know you probobly wouldnt recommend it but I ordered a HIV rapid test kit online. I did this because here in the UAE they deport people who test positive for HIV or HEP B.Anyway my question probobly reinforces why testing should not be done at...

Blood Collection Time

I have had 2 blood tests in the last 12 months where the blood draw was at 9:00 AM and arrived to the lab 8 hours later. Both times my CD4 absolute and percent have been considerably lower than other times when the blood arrived to the lab a lot...

No rapid test is as good as ELISA.

Do some research about the way the tests works. No rapid test will ever be as accurate as ELISA. For example, the rapid test uses just one or two drops of blood. The ELISA uses a lot more, which may lead to more antibodies in the sample... that's... Read more »
