Okay, if you had a QUESTIONABLE exposure it is 3 months. If you had sex with someone KNOWN or VERY LIKELY to have HIV, then your window period is 6 months. YOU CAN CLARIFY THIS WITH CDC AND VERY KNOWLEGABLE DOCTORS. So for most people, it is 3...

from the "new" CDC guidlines written in 1999 3 months is the window in Europe 3 months is the outer window to catch all who are late to seroconvert remember not only young people get HIV also older people with weak immune responce.Read more » Still 6 month window
