Papua New Guinea: New Center Being Built for Those With HIV

A center for the education and support of people with HIV and their families should be finished in Port Moresby by the end of this month, said Project Manager John Keenan of C&M Engineers. The center will offer family planning, HIV counseling and testing, facilities for train-the-trainer and peer education, condom distribution, and a drop-in center with family support to those infected/affected by HIV. Anglicare StopAIDS PNG will run the center. C&M Engineers agreed to construct the user-friendly center at a lower-than-usual cost, about 1 million Kina (US$308,715).
