AIDS Prevention Education to Go Into Iranian Schools

On Monday, an Iranian Ministry of Education said the country's schools will phase in AIDS prevention education. "Training plans for school doctors on AIDS prevention would be implemented this year," Dr. Riyadh Gheyratmand said, according to the official Islamic Republic News Agency. Gheyratmand said a workshop will be held for 229 doctors in Tehran and Khorasan province in August and September. The doctors will learn about the latest scientific achievements in HIV/AIDS, then transmit their knowledge to schoolteachers, who will further train 1.5 million first-year high-school students.
