China: Health Ministers to Gather in Beijing to Combat TBMarch 24, 2009 At a three-day meeting in Beijing next week, health ministers from 27 countries will discuss strategies for dealing with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis. According to Liu Yuhong, a program officer with the World Health Organization, attendees will talk about how to prevent and manage the infection and will develop a five-year plan to address it. WHO is sponsoring the summit, along with China's Ministry of Health and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
