The 10th Annual International Society For Antiviral Research Conference

The Tenth Annual International Society For Antiviral Research (ISAR) Conference provides an "interdisciplinary forum where investigators involved in basic, applied, and clinical research worldwide can convene to review recent developments in all areas of antiviral research." Specific topics covered in the 1997 program include "synthesis and chemistry, biochemistry and mechanism of action, molecular biology and targeting, in vitro evaluation, animal models, pharmacokinetics, toxicology and clinical trials." The conference includes "overview" speakers, oral presentations and poster presentations.

ISAR was created in 1987 to advance and disseminate knowledge in all areas of antiviral research. The society is a non-profit scientific organization with approximately 1,000 members representing 30 countries.

Generally, the presentations are on antiviral compounds not yet licensed for use or for licensed drugs at doses or indications not yet licensed. These reports cover a few selected HIV and HBV presentations. They are intended solely to give an account of those presentations and should not be inferred to give any recommendation for clinical usage.
