World Health Organization OKs Traditional Healers
August 19, 2003 In an effort to bring traditional healers on board to help
in combating HIV/AIDS, the World Health Organization will
recognize August 31 as African Traditional Medicine Day.
According to Dr. Dorothy Balaba, director of Traditional and
Modern Health Practitioners Together Against AIDS, WHO has
accepted the use of alternative medicine help to fight AIDS.
