How To Put On A Condom

Condoms, like cocks, come in different shapes and sizes – so experiment with different brands and types to find one that fits you best.

It’s important not to use oil-based lubes like baby oil, vaseline, or moisturiser with latex condoms because they perish latex and the condom will break.

The instructions are in both Maori and English.

OPEN IT UP

To open the condom foil, tear along the serrated edge with your fingers (your teeth might damage the condom). Make sure the condom is up the right way before you put it on the end of your cock. Take a close look at the ring to find out which way it unrolls.

If you start to put it on your cock and find it is inside out, throw the condom away and use another one, because there may be pre-cum on the side that’s going into your partner.

SQUEEZE AND ROLL

Place the condom on the head of your erect cock and squeeze any air out of the tip.

- If you are circumcised (cut), roll the condom all the way down to the base of your cock.

- If you have a short or medium length foreskin, pull it back before rolling the condom on.

- If you have a long foreskin (and the skin covers most of your cock head when you’re hard), you need to leave your foreskin forward, or the condom could slide off when your foreskin slides back into place.

TWO HAND JOB

Some men (particularly those with thicker cocks or long foreskins) find the two hand job is easier than the conventional squeeze and roll method.

Start by unrolling the condom about 1cm and put two fingers from each hand under each side. Stretch it over the head and part-way down the shaft, and gently unroll to the base of your cock.

You could also let your partner put it on for you.

USE LOTS OF WATER-BASED LUBE

Use plenty of water-based lube with latex condoms. Lube will make sex a lot more fun, and helps stop the condom from breaking. If you have lube on your cock, wipe it off before putting a condom on.

A drop on the tip of your cock will increase sensitivity, but too much will cause the condom to slide off.

SHOT YOUR LOAD

After you’ve cum, hold onto the base of the condom when pulling out.

LOOK AFTER YOUR CONDOMS

Check the expiry date of your condom. It will be on the condom foil (or box) and will look something like this: “Exp 05/2004” or, “use by May 2004”.

If it has expired, discard it and use a new one.

Store your condoms in a cool dark place (out of direct sunlight and not in places like your wallet or glove box, as heat and friction will perish the latex).

Practice makes perfect - if you loose your hard-on when putting a condom on, or find them uncomfortable, try using a condom while you masturbate (wank) so you can get used to the way they feel.
