South Carolina: SC HIV/AIDS Council Seeks Participants in Youth Program

July 16, 2007

The SC HIV/AIDS Council is seeking young gay males of color, ages 13 to 20, to take part in its "Be Proud, Be Responsible" HIV prevention program for gay youth. Potential participants will receive $50 for the initial screening interview. Those found to be eligible for the program who take part in a six-hour health educational program will be paid an additional $100. Those who return for follow-up will get $50 more. The instructional component targets minority at-risk youth with information on HIV and how to prevent infection, including help with refusal skills and negotiating condom use. For more information, telephone Matt Jenkins at 803-254-6644 ext. 110 or visit www.scHIVAIDSCouncil.org.
