Georgia: Albany, Brunswick and Columbus Receive Nearly $1.6 Million in HIV/AIDS Grants
July 2, 2003 Health agencies in Albany, Brunswick and Columbus, Ga., received a total of nearly $1.6 million in federal grants for low-income people who are living with HIV/AIDS or at risk for the virus, federal officials said Tuesday. Part of a 45-grant, $23 million program for 22 states and the District of Columbia from the Health and Human Services Department, the grants will provide counseling, testing, referral, medical evaluation and care services to people in rural, remote areas and inner cities. The grants are awarded under the Title III Early Intervention Services program of the Ryan White CARE Act.
