South Carolina Gets $800,000 for Abstinence Programs

July 3, 2003

South Carolina abstinence education programs will get $800,000 in federal grants for abstinence education programs. The grant, announced Wednesday, is one of 28 around the nation through the US Department of Health and Human Services. The programs are intended to reduce premarital sex, pregnancies and STDs for children ages 12 to 18. The grants go to public and private entitities.
