Maryland: Interim Head of AIDS Clinic to Step Down

May 27, 2008

The interim head of Baltimore's Health Education Resource Organization Inc. since September has resigned. Susan Ahlstrom's last day will be Friday, according to board President Lenora Davis. HERO is no longer conducting a national search for a director, said Davis, who will assume the role for the time being and try to steer the organization toward financial health. Chris Leone, HERO's chief development officer, said the group had expected Ahlstrom's interim tenure to end this year. HERO serves more than 3,000 HIV/AIDS patients every year and is one of Baltimore's leading AIDS clinics. According to an organization release, Davis has been with HERO for 14 years.
