France: Sharon Stone Raises $10 Million for AIDS Research

On Thursday, actress Sharon Stone hosted the 15th Cinema for AIDS gala, which was held on the sidelines of the Cannes film festival. The event raised more than $10 million for the Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR). The performer Madonna joined Stone in helping to raise funds by auctioning a private concert, fetching $552,000, and other items. Madonna also previewed extracts from her new documentary, "I Am Because We Are," which shows the effects of poverty, AIDS, and other diseases on children in Malawi.
