Florida: $5K Grant to Boys & Girls Clubs

The Weichel Family Fund of the Manatee Community Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County. A press release said the clubs will use the funds to expand programs to prevent the use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs, to warn youths about gang involvement, and to teach courses "focusing on abstinence-based pregnancy and STD prevention." The six Manatee-area Boys & Girls Clubs are utilized by some 2,500 young people.
