Missouri: AIDS Fundraiser Attracts Many Walkers
April 30, 2007 The 19th annual AIDS Walk Kansas City on Saturday morning attracted more than 3,000 walkers, a turnout that organizers said was the event's biggest since 2001. The AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City sponsors the walk, which has raised more than $5 million over the years for local AIDS clinics and service organizations. Saturday's 3.5-mile trek featured 76 banners, held aloft by loved ones, bearing the names of people who died of AIDS.
