U.S. News CBS to Hold Online Auction to Benefit Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS FoundationSeptember 8, 2004

plans to hold an online auction from Sept. 8 to Sept. 26 to benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and promote its new fall season, the AP/Boston Globe reports. The eBay auction will include memorabilia and experiences with network celebrities. "People have a great affinity for these shows," George Schweitzer, CBS vice president of marketing and communications, said, adding, "Now they can have a part of these shows while celebrating the new season." According to Schweitzer, items included in the auction are "at all different levels. Some are priceless and some are attainable." Kate Carr, president and CEO of the Elizabeth Glaser Foundation, said, "We are simply thrilled to be the beneficiary of CBS' one-of-a-kind auction and help kick off their exciting fall lineup. This is a great opportunity for people everywhere to have an extraordinary TV experience and help save the lives of children around the world at the same time" (AP/Boston Globe, 9/7).
