Article Examines Benefits of Reaching Millennium Development Goals for Health; Youth InfoNet Releases New Publications

"How Much Would Poor People Gain From Faster Progress Towards the Millennium Development Goals for Health?" Lancet: Davidson Gwatkin, a former employee of and current consultant to the World Bank, examines a range of possible outcomes for poor populations upon reaching the U.N. Millennium Development Goals for health, which do not have the focus on poor people typical of the MDGs but instead are based on improving "national averages that can be achieved through gains in both advantaged and disadvantaged groups" (Gwatkin, Lancet, 2/26).
Youth InfoNet, YouthNet, Family Health International: YouthNet has released Youth InfoNet No. 12 and No. 13, which include summaries of 38 recently published studies on youth reproductive health and HIV prevention (FHI release, 3/2).
