Danny Glover

December 2001

Danny Glover is an American actor who has appeared in numerous stage productions and films including The Color Purple and the Lethal Weapon series. Danny Glover has been actively involved in the fight against AIDS. His work includes serving as a founding member of the UNDP-sponsored Working Group on HIV/AIDS in Africa, giving speeches and submitting testimony before the US Congress. For the World AIDS Campaign 2000, Danny Glover produced a public service announcement for UNDP. In July 2000 he attended the 13th International AIDS Conference in Durban, South Africa, where he visited a number of HIV/AIDS projects. Danny Glover has served as a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador since March 1998.
