The National Catholic AIDS Network was established in 1989 as the only national Catholic organization devoted exclusively to helping the Church respond in an informed and compassionate manner to the challenges presented by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The Network is a regsitered 501C3 non-profit organization and maintains a relationship with the National Conference of Catholic Bishops and United States Catholic Conference through Bishop Howard Hubbard of the Diocese of Albany, NY, who serves as Moderator Bishop and liaison with the NCCB.
Mission StatementChallenged by the example of Jesus and the mandates of the Gospel, the National Catholic AIDS Network is a non-profit organization responding to the AIDS pandemic by providing education, technical assistance, and a support network for HIV/AIDS service providers as well as individuals and groups affected by HIV. The Network collaborates with national and international AIDS service organizations and assists Catholic leaders and congregations in responding to the impact of HIV/AIDS. The Network also supports theological reflection and dialogue within the Roman Catholic perspective relating to the experience of HIV/AIDS. |
