Florida: Four-Hour HIV/AIDS Class Offered in Fort Lauderdale

"HIV 101," a four-hour training class, will be presented by the Broward County Health Department on Tuesday, May 31, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The class is recommended for individuals in professions whose certification does not specify continuing educations units but requires a certificate in HIV/AIDS training. CEUs are available for cosmetologists and barbers. The course will deal with topics including HIV prevalence and prevention, as well as the latest treatment developments. The class is $20 for those seeking certification and free for others; it will be held at the Fort Lauderdale Health Center, 2421 S.W. 6th Ave. Reservations are recommended; telephone 954-467-4700, ext. 5812.
