Word on the Street: The Mother's Day Edition

May 4, 2011

Brooke Davidoff

Brooke Davidoff

Seattle, Wash.; Diagnosed in 2010; One son: Myles (9 1/2 months)

Myles saved my life -- without him I'd have no IDEA I have AIDS. I would have a lot less to live for. He keeps me going; he's my motivation for LIFE. Challenge: trying not to act like the plague when I cut myself. Having the energy to do it all being a full-time working mom, wife and writer -- I run out of hours in the day. Having the money to let his daddy continue to be a stay-home dad.

The best part about being a mother is being blessed to be one it's a gift from GOD!! Some of my biggest lesson through being a mother is learning patience, unconditional love, committment, trust, understanding and learning how to persevence...

Some of my biggest challenges are letting go.. I know that at some point you have too, but these are my babies we are talking about.. I have 4 childen two grown Daugthers and two sons 18,10...

Am just very grateful that they all hae been taught and given tools that will help them to shape their own lives and be able to make healthy choices..

I thank GOD for that lessons and blessings..
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mother's out there.. It's not an easy job, but the gift of motherhood is priceless and i wouldn't change a thing.. Mother's Day is about LOVE!!!
