Kevin Maloney -- A Co-Infection Story

By Robert Breining

January 14, 2011

Kevin Maloney

Kevin Maloney was diagnosed HIV+ on March 3, 2010. Since then Kevin has been advocating and educating the public through his personal blog. It can be found at www.kevincaresusa.blogspot.com. He has recently enrolled back in school to get his Masters degree in Public Health and starts classes in January. Kevin was actually co-infected with HIV and hepatitis C due to unprotected sex. He has just finished six months of hep C treatments, which have eradicated the virus.

The Positive Pitch

I describe myself as a "positive person with purpose." My goal is to help people living with HIV/AIDS discover similarities in each other ... and form friendships. I want to ease the shock of a diagnosis and remind people that our dreams are not infected. I am also an HIV/AIDS cyber-activist, radio show host, blogger and social network guru.
