First Community Baptist Church in Desert Hot Springs, Calif., to Offer HIV Testing

January 19, 2011

First Community Baptist Church has become the latest partner to work with Desert AIDS Project in offering free, confidential HIV testing. The church, located at 66272 First St. in Desert Hot Springs, will offer the rapid-result test along with counseling from 2 to 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. Testing efforts are critically important in the Coachella Valley because HIV prevalence there is almost three times the national average, said Barry Dayton, DAP's director of marketing and communications.
