Prevention/Epidemiology Fiji: Players to Promote HIV MessageJanuary 13, 2011 Fiji soccer players will learn more about HIV/AIDS and promote peer and youth education about the disease under a joint agreement signed Tuesday. The Fiji Football Association and Fiji Association of Sport and the National Olympic Committee's Stop HIV/AIDS program have agreed to promote HIV/AIDS awareness during soccer tournaments throughout the country. There is a need to change the way youths learn about HIV, and having athletes take a leading role will help, said Mereoni Lewesi, ambassador for FASANOC Stop HIV/AIDS.
