What is NPHRC?

The National Pediatric & Family HIV Resource Center at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey was a nonprofit organization that served professionals who care for children, adolescents and families with HIV infection and AIDS. Founded in 1990, the center offered education, consultation, technical assistance, and training for health and social service professionals. The center is now closed.

To provide access to the most recent publications, video and audio tapes, and other educational materials on pediatric and family HIV issues.

To facilitate the exchange of ideas and information through meetings and conferences.

To promote the development of a national network of family-centered, coordinated, community-based, culturally competent systems of care for children, youth and families with HIV infection.

To provide a forum in which providers can explore and influence HIV/AIDS public policy decisions.

Services of the Resource Center

Training and educational opportunities for health care and social service providers.
Development and distribution of guidelines for the care of children, youth and families with HIV infection.
Development and distribution of educational materials for providers and families.
Convening working groups and task forces to address critical issues in pediatric, youth and family HIV care.
