RLTReads First Book Club Pick!!!By Rae Lewis-Thornton December 6, 2010 I simply love to read. I typically read 1 to 3 books a week. But there are some books I try to read and I just can't no matter how hard I try. Well that's the deal with my first #RLTReads Book Club pick. With this book there is a level of guilt for not having read it. One, it's an AIDS story and two, it was also an Oprah Book Club pick and I pride myself on having read almost all of her picks. The deal is though I don't really know what the deal is. LOL...I'm not sure why I have started this book no less then 5 times and put it down. I think the most I've ever gotten through is 10 pages.
In honor of World AIDS Day, What Looks Like Crazy on an Ordinary Day by Pearl Cleage is my first RLT Reads Twitter Book Club pick. You will have approximately six weeks to complete the book. Feel free to talk to me on Twitter as you are reading. But the larger discussion will include everyone online through my blog.
I am still working out the details on how the online discussion will work. Stay tuned. Also, I will be sending out an email shortly to everyone who has signed up for the book club with the compiled list of everyone's top five favorite books. You DO NOT have to be on Twitter to be in the book club. The book club email is RLTReads@raelewisthornton.com. Remember, I'm basically running my book club like Oprah. After this book, I will only choose books that I believe are wonderful. I will be reading your top fav five books. #ForReal. All of them. Fair warning: my book club picks will be very diverse, black, white, male, female, fiction and non-fiction. I'm an avid reader and I want to share my passion with you. You can read about the club in an earlier blog. Assignments
