The red ribbon is an international symbol of AIDS awareness that is worn by people all year round and particularly around World AIDS Day to demonstrate care and concern about HIV and AIDS, and to remind others of the need for their support and commitment. Lights for Rights/World AIDS Day Event (Mobile)

The lightning of the RSA Tower and the Renaissance Hotel with Red Lights in recognition of World AIDS Day and the Lights for Rights Campaign. There will also be a program held at the Mobile City/County Building, with numerous singing groups, jazz band, and speakers, along with a Consumer Panel. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Shannon Tyler, an HIV Specialist Doctor from the University of South Alabama Hospital Systems.
