CNN's Roland Martin and Actor-Comedian Sinbad Host 10th Annual Heroes in the Struggle Gala Awards

Commentator Roland Martin (CNN) and Actor/Comedian Sinbad (Comedy Central) will co-host the 10th Annual Heroes in the Struggle Gala Awards Presentation on World AIDS Day, Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the Avalon, Hollywood.

Join event co-chairs Cookie and Earvin "Magic" Johnson to honor Bill Clinton, Founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation and 42nd President of the United States; Blair Underwood, Award-Winning Actor, "The Event"; Lee L. Daniels, Academy Award-Nominated Producer and Director. "Precious"; Sheila C. Johnson, Businesswoman and Philanthropist, Executive Producer, "The Other City," Marvelyn Brown, AIDS Activist; Frank J. Oldham, Jr., President and CEO, National Association of People With AIDS; Willis Edwards, Civil Rights Icon, Board Member, NAACP; Robi Reed, Award-Winning Producer, Casting Director, "For Colored Girls"; National Basketball Association, Corporate Hero.

Heroes in the Struggle is a photographic tribute to people of African decent who have made outstanding contributions in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Launched by the Black AIDS Institute on World AIDS Day, December 1, 2001, the honorees reflect the diverse and exceptional ways that Black people can, and are, fighting AIDS. Since its debut, the Heroes In The Struggle exhibit has traveled around the country, raising awareness, challenging individuals and institutions to get involved in their communities, and generating critical conversation about HIV testing and treatment.
