U.S. News Southern Illinois AIDS WalkOctober 22, 2010 More than 200 people turned out in Carbondale Saturday for the Southern Illinois AIDS Walk, raising nearly $8,000 for the Southern Illinois AIDS Holiday Project. The outreach assists about 150 low-income AIDS-affected households in 19 counties by providing groceries, toys, clothes, and gift cards. Organizers noted that the amount raised fell short of the goal of $15,000; donations continue to be accepted.
